What this site is—and is not.
An independent editorial and community concept about Antarctic theories, historical records, research, and speculative culture. It is not affiliated with governments, scientific institutions, archives, or the creators linked here unless expressly stated.
Questions, hypotheses, and allegations are not findings of fact. A theory’s inclusion is not endorsement. An old map’s authenticity does not validate its physical model; a fictional work is not evidence of real disclosure.
Evidence and labeling.
We distinguish primary records, research, interpretations, unresolved claims, fiction, original diagrams, and AI-generated illustrations. Images may be used for context rather than as proof of a specific claim; captions should make that role explicit.
We aim to link original sources and distinguish what a source says from our interpretation. We do not claim that this collection is exhaustive, that every linked claim is verified, or that a disclaimer makes inaccurate statements harmless.
Corrections and replies.
Corrections should identify the page, disputed statement, supporting evidence, and proposed change. Significant corrections should be visibly noted rather than silently obscured. Relevant responses from named parties should be evaluated fairly.
Contact setup pending: no corrections address or public submission service has been configured for this review draft. Do not assume a field note is sent to an editor. The owner must establish a working corrections channel before public launch.
Copyright and attribution.
Linked material remains subject to its owner’s rights and source terms. Historical scans and archival imagery include source attribution; AI illustrations and original graphics are labeled. Do not assume every item on a government or archive website is unrestricted.
Use only material the site has permission or another valid basis to publish. Rights concerns should identify the work, page, ownership claim, and requested action. No formal notice address or designated agent is represented as established here. The owner must configure an appropriate contact and process before launch.
Community conduct.
Challenge ideas without targeting people. No harassment, threats, hate, doxxing, impersonation, unlawful content, spam, or instructions for unsafe or unauthorized expeditions. Label speculation and generated media. Share original sources when possible.
Public accounts, shared threads, moderation, appeals, and reporting are not live in this static review. Their operating rules and responsible contacts must be defined before opening participation. This policy does not imply that active moderation exists today.
Privacy and current functionality.
The static draft’s saved reading list and field notes use browser-local storage. They are not submitted to a shared community. Exported notes are downloaded to the device. Anyone with access to that browser profile may be able to see local data.
The interactive imagery map requests public image tiles directly from USGS and British Antarctic Survey services. Providers receive ordinary technical information such as your IP address and requested map tile; this draft sends no site account data or stored field notes with those requests. Tiles use no-referrer requests. Watch-page previews use lazy-loaded YouTube privacy-enhanced players. These still connect to YouTube and may process technical information; playback can involve platform cookies, recommendations or advertising. External links open third-party services with their own practices. No site analytics or advertising code has been added to this draft; hosting and third-party services may process technical information under their own policies. A full privacy review is required when accounts, signatures, analytics, or other collection are introduced.
Peaceful transparency.
The movement’s proposed focus is lawful records requests, source scrutiny, representative contact, and peaceful organizing. No petition or official request is automatically submitted. This site does not provide legal advice, expedition planning, or a guarantee of disclosure.
Antarctic tourism exists, with regulatory, environmental, operational, and logistical conditions. Questions about access do not authorize trespass, disruption, or harassment.
Before public launch: confirm operator identity, contact channels, rights clearance, corrections handling, privacy disclosures, community moderation, and appropriate legal review. A disclaimer cannot substitute for accurate reporting or responsible operation.
